2023 / 2024 season:
Raphael Mahlknecht: A successful season with TOP results in the World Cup!
The World Cup kickoff for the 2023-24 season started off promisingly: in Pinzolo, Raphael secured 4th place on the first race day. A great start to the new season!
In January, he sensationally claimed 2nd place in the sprint races in Carezza in front of a home crowd – an unforgettable moment in his career. On the second race day, despite time penalties, he managed to finish in 4th place and was satisfied with his performance.
In March, he continued to make history: at the first Telemark World Cup in Livigno, despite battling a cold, Raphael fought his way to 2nd place. The following race days brought falls and challenges, but he didn’t give up and secured 10th place under tough conditions.
The grand finale of the season took place in Pra Loup (FRA), weather permitting. Although he was still dealing with health issues, Raphael once again showed his talent in the sprint and took 6th place – an impressive result that put him in the top 5 of the overall sprint rankings.
Raphael’s best year in the World Cup ended with an impressive 6th place in the overall standings.
